Dental Sedation
At St. Laurent Dental Centre, we offer dental sedation for patients undergoing tooth extractions with our oral surgeon.
What is Dental Sedation?
Dental anxiety can cause some people to miss out on the treatment they need and deserve.
Dental sedation refers to a variety of techniques used by dental professionals to help nervous or anxious patients feel more relaxed and to help patients undergoing longer more complex procedures feel more comfortable.
At St. Laurent Dental Centre, we offer oral sedation or IV sedation for patients who are seeing our oral surgeon, for tooth extractions.
Our oral sugeon practices at St. Laurent Dental Centre once a month. If you're interested in learning more about our sedation options or would like to inquire about setting up an appointment, please contact our office.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedatives are pills or liquids prescribed by your dentist or specialist to help make your dental appointment more comfortable from start to finish. The sedation medication is taken orally in advance of a dental appointment. It leaves you awake for the procedure but produces a calming effect to significantly relax you.
IV Sedation
For patients who require a higher level of dental sedation, we offer IV sedation. IV sedatives are administered directly into the bloodstream through the vein for the deepest level of sedation without general anesthesia. Our dental team will attach you to a monitor so that we can keep track of your vital signs during the procedure.
